What’s up my Bloveleez? I’ve been hearing from some of you that you’re watching out for sodium in your diet but you still want to eat foods with flavor. If you’ve watched my videos on YouTube, you know I’m all about finding ways to make things that work for you, especially with my Smackalicious Sauce Mixes.

When you’re making your sauce at home, I encourage you to use the directions as a guideline, but there are no hard and fast rules. Feel free to replace the ingredients with ones that work for your needs. The recipe calls for unsalted butter, but you can also use vegan butter, nut butter, I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter or whatever butter substitute you choose. Instead of the chicken stock in the recipe, replace it with low-sodium chicken stock or even water. There’s plenty of flavor in the sauce mix already so making these easy adjustments won’t impact the flavor!

I use the Smackalicious Sauce Mixes in just about everything, so when I don’t have any prepared but am craving that flavor, I add just 1 to 2 teaspoons of the Smackalicious Sauce Mix to a pan with 1 cup of water and a half stick of unsalted butter. Then I add in diced red onion, garlic and pickled ginger and it’s ready in no time. So go ahead and make the sauce to match your tastebuds and dietary needs. No matter how you make it, you’ll be on that flavor train!
